Literal translation for Seneca’s letters

I’ve finished translating the letters in book 3 as literally as possible (proofreading is still to be done). 🎉 The literal translations are usually the most time-consuming part of working on a new book. That’s why I’m already working on it long before we announce the book here in the feed. But I think it’s […]

Seneca’s letters book 3 coming soon!

After Augustine, we are jumping back in time a bit, to Seneca! I’m editing the audio and then we have a few other resources we need to create for the book, and, of course, proofread and listen through it a few times. But you should see another volume of Seneca’s letters quite soon here on […]

The Power of Consistency ⚡️

Gutta cavat lapidem, non vi, sed saepe cadendo. — “A water drop hollows a stone not by force, but by falling often.” This Latin proverb is a powerful reminder for all of us learning a language. It’s not about spending hours cramming once a week. It’s about those consistent 5–15 minutes every single day. That’s […]

Tip regarding dictionaries

When you read a book with an interlinear translation, you can tap on the individual words and you’ll see the translation in a “translation bubble”. However, if you would still like to see the dictionary entries for this word to read more about it, you can simply long press on the word and then select […]

Augustine’s Confessions, Book 1 on Legentibus! (audio + new translation)

I’m very glad to announce that the first book of Augustine’s Confessions (Confessionum liber primus) is now available on Legentibus. This version contains: ✅ Latin audiobook narration synced to the Latin text (in Ecclesiastical pronunciation) ✅ Legentibus literal translation (our new translation type developed to help learners understand quickly) This great narration was done by […]

Translation for Augustine’s Confessions

Lately I’ve been concentrating on translating the first book of the Confessiones and the draft is now finished. I’ll now proofread the translation and make further improvements, but we’re already getting closer to publication. 😀 I always try to keep our Legentibus translations as literal as possible, but this is often difficult with a text […]

Augustine is coming to Legentibus!

One of the most requested texts is Augustine’s Confessions. Today I have good news: we are now working with a new narrator to bring the first book to life–in ecclesiastical pronunciation. I don’t yet have a publication date but it should not be too long! Stay tuned!

“Porta Latina” now available 🎉

F.G. Moore translated 50 of La Fontaine’s French fables into Latin using a rich and elegant style. The level of the Latin makes them most suitable for upper intermediate learners but thanks to the notes and built-in dictionaries they can also be enjoyable for lower intermediate learners that want a bit of a challenge. You […]

Some updates on Porta Latina

During proof listening we noticed some minor issues in the audio that I’m now going back and fixing. We should be able to publish the book on Legentibus with audio and notes in a couple of days. Have a great week!
