The book will present two letÂters writÂten by Francesco PetrarÂca (1304â1374) addressed to the Roman statesÂman and oraÂtor MarÂcus TulÂlius Cicero (106â43 BC).
In 1345, PetrarÂch disÂcovÂered a manÂuÂscript of Ciceroâs EpisÂtuÂlae ad Atticum in the ChapÂter Library of Verona. This disÂcovÂery proÂvidÂed PetrarÂch with his first glimpse of Ciceroâs priÂvate corÂreÂsponÂdence, revealÂing the Roman authorâs perÂsonÂal anxÂiÂeties and politÂiÂcal entanÂgleÂments durÂing the colÂlapse of the Roman RepubÂlic. In response, PetrarÂch comÂposed these letÂters as if writÂing to a livÂing conÂtemÂpoÂrary.
I find them very fasÂciÂnatÂing and hope youâll enjoy them too! Today Iâll careÂfulÂly proofÂread everyÂthing again so that the book can be pubÂlished on MonÂday.

Wish you a great weekÂend! âşď¸
