By the fire

Last year we start­ed pub­lish­ing a new latin learn­ing resource: Auda. The idea was and is to cre­ate an immer­sive uni­verse with inter­est­ing char­ac­ters while still being very com­pre­hen­si­ble for begin­ners. The idea is that I grad­u­al­ly add new vocab­u­lary and gram­mar as need­ed for the sto­ry but not so much that it gets over­whelm­ing.

Any­way, I’m now work­ing on Chap­ter VII. To real­ly get into the mind­set and kind of see the world of Auda I like to go down to the local restau­rant and have a beer by the fire­place. This real­ly helps me see the action in front of me and then i write it down. Of course tons of edit­ing is required after­wards but the hard­est part is get­ting the first draft with the plot down on paper.
